It's about four years since I first learned of the existence of a rifle VSS Vintorez. It was while playing the game Stalker. At first I thought it was one of those fictitious weapons, created just for an interesting atmosphere. After finding that the weapon is based on the real master, I tried to get the VSS as much information as possible. Boundless well of information called the Internet, did not tell me that too. "Why?" I wonder to this day. Why are so interesting weapon almost knows?

For those who are the same as me a few years ago, will bring basic information about the rifle. The beginning of this weapon dates back to the 80th the last century. It was established for the special needs of Spetsnaz, KGB and MVD. These organizations need a weapon that could be easy to conceal (VSS can be saved in case the dimensions 450х370х140 mm) and should hit the target on a relatively long distance. For added confidentiality and the need for "sound insulation", which was the need for special design and subsonic charge.

For VSS Vintorez had to develop special ammunition because, military standard subsonic ammunition is usable only for a short distance with a little perseverance. New ammunition was at a distance of 400 meters interfere lightly protected targets at subsonic speed. The basis of the ammunition cartridge served the most common charge of about 7.62 x39 pattern 43 is an enlarged neck for a 9 mm bullet. The production was introduced two types of ammunition 9x39. It was SP-5 (СП-5) celoplášť with lead core and SP-6 (СП-6) pushing with a core of tungsten. Muzzle velocity of the two projectiles is 280 m / s. Projectile SP-5 is more suitable for accurate subsonic shooting at a distance 300-400 meters. A SP-6 is better protected against targets. At 200 meters inroads 6 mm steel plate, 30 layers of kevlar or 2.8 mm titanium plate at 500 meters and 2 mm steel plate. From a distance of 300-400 meters inroads standard military body armor.

To fix sights uses VSS Vintorez Side bar assembly mounted on the left side of the case. The rifle is equipped with "Daylight" optical sight PSO-1 with four times magnification. The silencers are fitted fixed sights consisting of front and rear with the front sight with rear sight. Although it looks adjustable up to 400 meters, so the use of mechanical rather backup sights. In the daytime shooting at a distance of about 400 meters and 300 meters into the night. Forend and nadpažbí is one piece of plastic. The stock is wooden, frame type with a plastic plate. Basic information about the weapon we should. But as you surely know, this site is dedicated to airsoft. Try to guess what I first held my head when I discovered that this weapon exists. It's not that complicated:) "Where can I buy this beauty?" Simple question, however, changed in an endless search on the Internet about a month when I took the search. I hate to give up anything, but at that moment I was one hundred percent sure that the gun in the airsoft version does not produce one. I will not conceal that I was very sad. And again we have the question "Why?" Well, why not produce? The moment I gave up the search finished weapons, attacked me heretical idea is make your own weapon. Yes, the Internet, I found several photos that show more or less successful attempts to own the building. However, what was the stumbling block? Always it was the rebuilding, modification AK 47th In short - buy Used Kalashnikov, cut off the barrel, put on a tube in her place and eventually přidělám butt for SVD. Immediately I was sure that I do not want to go in that direction. This is nothing better than "butcher" AK 47, if I know of that will never be the VSS (maybe from a passing express train). After a few sleepless nights when I wondered what would have to make when building new weapons, and what problems I would in fact met, I postponed the project.

The next three years following my rifle, this poisoned mind. Here and there, I came later, as they went to some of the parts to make weapons. This phase came to a point where I wondered this week whether the "go ahead". It was an easy decision, believe me. Just need for considerable funding, which I had put in an uncertain project. Try to be everything and the opportunity to own a gun's original cost. I went into it!

I spent the first stage of hunting for all kinds of photos (because I was well aware that a real gun will never see again). Then I sat three months at the drawing board. Respectively, the CAD:). I'll tell you a little advice. When you build a weapon ever, accurate measurement mechboxu start, hop-up and storage - it is because the components around which weapon you literally obestavět. The precise geometry of these three parts is the future outcome is crucial. At this stage I have had to know how it will look like any of the many parts that must be produced. I will long stretch, it was necessary to produce 40 original pieces that nobody has ever seen (only part of the barrel, though it looks uniform, is originally from 10 parts).

What next? Now came to find many of what weapon to produce and most importantly, where it is produced. My garage is does not have a lathe. I solved this problem by accommodating my school. This I want to thank the entire Department of Technical and Information Education Faculty of Education MU, especially Mr. Ing. Karel Stibor, PhD. Here I am after a few days were turned all the necessary parts needed for the barrel. In order to facilitate the processing of my barrel made ​​of aluminum.

The barrel was born and began to build the frame arms. It was made ​​of steel, and all I made it, as has been said, at home in the garage. I served only jigsaw and floor sander. Smaller parts I made from a relatively thin sheet metal, even though I knew that the problem with welding. The actual welding was the only job I failed the whole weapon itself. I have entrusted it to a colleague from our team. Thank Libor, great job.

When the frame in the world, I thought it was the hardest for me. The opposite was true. All Hardware, Grip and stock parts and it took another two months of work everyday. So, for example, need to fuse. You might think: "That's easy, why not take it out of the AK 47?" Have you noticed, however, that the frame is placed on some other place than that mentioned the AK 47? And according to the original can not be remade from the outside weapons? How I solved the problem, would give the whole page, so I will not bother you.

Most of the problems I solved operatively, until I reached the final stage. You have to prepare enough for the weapon mechbox divorce and wiring. You would not believe how hard it is to place the torch into the gun, which had never be:) Plans for mosfet had quickly back into the drawer. Actually not fit into the rifle or fuse.

The conclusion was made finish. Frame, barrel and forend is painted, stained and the stock is painted.

After final completion of the shoot was the first time (ie up to 14 days after completion, because I managed to bend the inner barrel - that I had to get a new cut has a specific length of 430mm). It took exactly six months from when I first cut himself on the metal. Believe it or not, shaking my hand when I first nahmatával finger cocked the trigger. And hooray, it shot! How? You can see.

When I was sure that everything is as it should be, I bought optics. I kept it until the end. And because it was the largest item in the entire budget. He would be a sin not to buy the original optics (even if only Belarusian production).
